Adrian Wong is a recognized expert in the energy and infrastructure sector and is currently a Partner of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP providing legal expertise in transactional, commercial, regulatory & disputes advice. He has also worked as a legal counsel with International Power/GDF Suez (now ENGIE).

Adrian has advised power generation, transmission, renewable energy, petrochemical and construction companies as well as companies in the oil and gas industry. Ad Rietveld

Ad has spent most of his professional career in the pricing and reimbursement of pharmaceuticals with positions as a government payer, in consulting and in industry. He is widely seen as one of the foremost experts working in pricing and reimbursement. During his years in consultancy at RJW & partners since 2008 and previously at Cambridge Pharma Consultancy (now part of IMS Health) from 2000, Ad has advised on a wide range of projects in numerous therapeutic areas for many pharmaceutical companies, bringing his experience as a payer to bear in providing comprehensive market access solutions.

Prior to working in consultancy, Ad was Deputy Director of Pharmaceutical Affairs at the Dutch Ministry of Health, responsible for the development and implementation of pharmaceutical cost containment policies, including the development of a reference price system and price controls. He has an in-depth understanding of social health care insurance systems and has acted as a member of international advisory bodies, including the European Commission’s Pharmaceutical Pricing Transparency Committee. He has been closely involved with the World Health Organisation and World Bank in the development of international pharmaceutical policies and has helped develop the pricing and reimbursement systems in Vietnam, Serbia, Romania and Albania, among others. Ad founded RJW & Partners in 2008 with other renowned P&R experts including Neil Johnson and Chloe Brown, specialised in providing Pricing strategy development; Evaluation of new opportunities; Value proposition development, validation & communication; Evidence gap analysis and planning; Payer environment assessment; as well as Payer negotiation training. Adrias Tan graduated with First Class Honours from Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh), and obtained his Master of Science in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from the Joint Degree Programme at King’s College London and the National University of Singapore. Adrias also read law and graduated with LLB(Hons) from the University of London. Adrias is a trained arbitrator and has handled several institutional and ad-hoc arbitral proceedings. With more than twenty years of practical working experience in the construction milieu, Adrias has established himself considerably in contractual and legal advisory services, specializing in adjudication, arbitration and construction claim disputes, mediation and litigation proceedings.

Capt. Axel Kahl

Capt. Axel Kahl founded Chemical Marine in 2012 with the focus on chemical and oil tankers after having experienced 19 years in this specific but prominent industry. He began his career in 1977 sailing from ordinary seaman (OS) to captain in 1990 before working as Superintendent & Quality Manager/Auditor at a company specialised on tank cleaning/sludge & slop disposal, clean-up of oil pollutions between 1990-1997; followed by Pool Quality & Vetting Manager, and Operations Manager at United Chemical Transport GmbH (UCT) until 2006 where he was responsible for ship vetting, cargo operation and tank cleaning supervision. He then became Quality Assessor at STASCO until 2008 when he joined Shell Chemicals as Global Marine Technical Manager – Chemicals.

Axel is currently supporting companies across a range of subjects including crew training, auditing, risk management, incident investigation, tank cleaning, ship vetting and hazard prevention. Dr. Bart Lucarelli

Dr. Bart Lucarelli is Managing Director of Power and Utilities at AWR Lloyd, a financial advisory services company that provides its clients with strategic planning and transaction support. Its professional focus is on power, fuels and mining and works on behalf of private power producers, coal and gas suppliers, lenders and governments. Dr. Lucarelli has 40 years of professional energy sector experience with most of those years spent in Asia. Since 2006, he has worked extensively on projects related to the procurement and pricing of coal for coal-fired IPP projects in Asia. He has focused his efforts on assisting IPPs design and implement competitive coal tenders for both new and operating coal-fired IPP projects in Asia and assisting them with the negotiation of the coal supply and transportation agreements.

His coal related experiences since 2000 include:

  • Assisting 8 international IPPs with power projects located in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and India with the implementation of coal tender packages and then helping them to negotiate long term, coal sales agreements with Indonesian and Australian coal suppliers
  • Serving as the General Manager of the Quezon Power Company, a 460 MW coal-fired power plant located in the Philippines, from 2001 to 2004
  • Assessing the technical and economic feasibility of implementing coal upgrading systems at Indonesian mine sites
  • Evaluating and ranking proposals (for a state government) to demonstrate advanced technologies for upgrading Australian brown coal
  • Conducting a due diligence analysis of a prospectus to build and operate advanced coal blending facilities at large coal export terminals in China;
  • Conducting a comprehensive “Future of Coal in Asia study, which (i) analysed the coal industries of Australia, Indonesia, China and India and their Asian markets and (ii) compared the economics for coal-fired power plants against natural gas-fired plants and solar and wind
  • Publishing 3 chapters in “The Global Coal Markets (Cambridge University Press, covering the coal industries of Indonesia and Australia and technologies for mitigating CO2 emissions from the coal industry.

Dr. Lucarelli resides in Bangkok. He has a PhD from the University in California, Berkeley.

Björn Asplind

Björn Asplind, M.Sc Naval Architect CEO and Founder, Technocean Consulting AB, Gothenburg, Sweden

After working for for large technical and R&D projects/organisations over the years, Björn founded Technocean Consulting AB in 2014. The major principal is currently Stena Rederi AB where he primarily acts as Project Manager in Scrubber Retrofit Projects. Today he is one of few independent experts in the world on exhaust gas scrubbing technology for shipboard applications.

  • The assignment covers both technical, economical and contractual aspects of the project. The company has mainly taken assignments concerning exhaust gas cleaning projects, Scrubbers for Ships trading in the ECA areas.
  • The assignment includes technical and contract management for the scrubber conversion on the two largest ferries in the world, Stena Hollandica and Stena Britannica.
  • Björn has done all technical and economic feasibility studies for the ships being converted, as well as analysing the scrubber suitability for all relevant ships in the fleet.

During the last few years Björn has studied the scrubber technology for ship applications in detail as well as trying to understand the principle arguments for why there is a need to reduce SOx emissions and how they influence the environment. He has been in seminars and interfaced with researchers on how scrubbers will affect the marine environment.

  • He is currently engaged in a study together with IVL (Swedish Environmental Research Institute) about the effects of scrubbers. The project will study among other things how soot and particle exhaust are affected by scrubbers and try to answer the question; Which is better for the environment? Switching fuels or scrubbing?
  • He has managed the procurement and installation of both open and closed loop scrubbers

Bret Schroeder

Bret is an experienced management consultant with over 25 years of business strategy and operations experience. He has been working in the healthcare sector in partcular for over 15 years and has implemented projects in data analytics, mobile applications, integration of business and technology, digital strategy and operations, strategy and business planning, growth strategy and IT outsourcing.

He has led and managed numerous teams to identify, analyze and solve client’s largest challenges in healthcare -leveraging digital technology as a business enabler.  He has also done extensive research in Behavioral Economics and the impact on healthcare costs.

Bret has advised both public and private organizations in the US, UK, Middle East and Asia and is a regular contributor as a Subject Matter Expert for The New York Times, Bloomberg Radio, The Washington Post and Reuters.

He holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategy and Finance from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and an Electrical Engineering Degree from Montana State University.

Bret is presently a Partner and US Healthcare Growth Strategy Lead for PA Consulting Group, a global management consulting firm and he works with healthcare companies in the US, UK, Nordics and Middle East.

Byron Xavier

Byron Xavier is Director of Xavier & Associates LLC. And has specific experience in drafting and negotiating contracts across multiple jurisdictions, managing civil and criminal litigation, directing intellectual property registration and enforcement strategies and handling other general corporate matters.

Byron graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1998 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1999. He has worked as an associate in a Singapore law firm, where he specialised in intellectual property enforcement and litigation, as well as handling commercial IP and technology issues. Byron recently returned to private practice, starting his own firm with a small team in order to translate his in-house experience for the benefit of corporate clients – ranging from start-ups to MNCs – in the areas of corporate and commercial law, as well as advising on IP and IT issues.

Throughout practice Byron has had extensive experience in advising on, drafting, and negotiating a variety of contracts for a wide range of transactions from channel and logistics contracts and intellectual property licenses to outsourcing contracts and cross-border supply agreements.

Cedric Joseph

Cedric has over 20 years of management experience in Information Systems and Technology. He has worked as the Project manager for multi million dollar Port Automation projects at 3 of the largest container terminals in the US and recently completed an executive program at MIT on Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategies. He began his career with

ST Engineering (Singapore), Plexis Services (US) where he gained substantial experience with supply chain, logistics freight forwarding, warehousing and infrastructure management. Prior to founding CBIS, Cedric was the senior project manager of a company wide global innovation program for APM Terminals in Netherlands, and has experience working in terminal operations. He holds a M.S. in Information Technology.

Cedric is currently leading CBIS Inc, a maritime-focused consultancy company providing port automation solutions. He specialises in project management, vendor management, business analyses, process engineering, software design, development (AGILE/SCRUM), system testing, training & implementation and KPI monitoring. Chong Jun Tang

Chong Jun is a qualified Lawyer in Singapore and Hong Kong (since 2010 and 2016 respectively), and a Fellow and Council Member (Hon. Secretary) of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators. He has extensive experience handling shipping disputes relating to charterparties, bills of lading, MOAs for vessels sale & purchase, shipbuiding & repair contract and vessel-mortgage enforcement. He’s also a recognised specialist in international trade disputes, having represented clients in various quality & quantity disputes in connection with commodity sales & purchases (including grain & feed trade sectors). Chong Jun speaks English and Mandarin Chinese and holds Bachelor of Laws from the University of Durham and Master of Laws from Tsinghua University.

Christopher Lennon

Christopher Lennon is the Director of Stone Falcon Corporate and Legal Consulting Ltd – a company that provides consultancy, professional training and academic teaching within the area of Project Management, where he specializes within the ‘Special Projects’ domain. He has more than 25 years of experience across various market segments, including maritime and power industries, retail, logistics, distribution and the oil & gas industry. He has set up distribution networks supporting the North Sea E&P industry within Aberdeen and managed a variety of ‘special projects’ internationally – normally strategic or change management focused.

Chuan Yao

Chuan Yao, has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry and has worked in the industry in China, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and other ASEAN countries. Chuan has held senior positions in the areas of Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance and Regulatory Affairs and has been responsible for maintenance of regulatory compliance of active ingredient manufacturer’s drug master files (DMF) and European certificates of suitability (CEPs). Chuan also has extensive analytical testing and quality control experience, production engineering experience involving trouble shooting, process optimization and long-term process / product development activities. Chuan also has experience in GMP compliance auditing while employed by China State Food and Drug Administration (CFDA). In this role Chuan conducted for regulatory audits to Chinese pharmaceutical company within mainland China. Following his professional experiences at CFDA, Pacific Pharmaceuticals (New Zealand, now Merck Group), Go Medical Industries (Australia), Wyeth (Singapore, now Pfizer), Chuan Yao is currently a principal consultant in ChemPharm, and leading consultant team to participate GMP/GLP/GDP/GVP projects in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and ASEAN countries. Darrell Bate

Darrell began his maritime career with the Cunard Steamship Company Ltd and has since taken up numerous operations roles across ship management and brokerage houses including Salen Shipping, Genchem Chartering, Yemen Gulf Line, Van Ommeren Marine Management and Kearvaig Shipping. He served as a third officer aboard general cargo vessels trading worldwide, during which time he oversaw a range of port agency services including loading/discharging, laytime statements, bunkering, victualling & manning, etc. He obtained his Class-3 Certificate of Competency and HNC in Nautical Science from the College of Nautical Studies (Warsash), is a member of Chartered Institute of Shipbrokers, and has worked as a shipbroker to the Baltic Exchange-based Van Ommeren Marine.

Darrell has focused his career in education & training and is the Course Director for Diploma in Ship and Port Agency at Lloyd’s Maritime Academy. He has trained numerous ship & port agents as well as seafarers from Nord Maritime, Inchcape Shipping, Huntdeltel, Wilhelmsen, CBG Guinea, Neptune Lines Agency, GAC, Sea Pride Enterprise, LBH Group to name a few, on all facets of the Ship and Port Agency business.

Derrick Yuen

Derrick is the co-founder and principal for FYT Consulting with extensive experience in analytics and consulting with top management consulting firms, multinational corporations and government agencies.

Prior to establishing FYT Consulting, he was responsible for co-leading the formation and establishment of the People Analytics Centre of Excellence (COE) for a multinational healthcare company with US$ 30 Billion revenue. Derrick also has extensive experience in corporate strategy and process improvement having led such functions in large multinational corporates in the FMCG and aviation sectors.

Derrick is an associate trainer with the Civil Service College, PSA Academy, HR Academy and Management Development Institute of Singapore where he develops and delivers data analytics, decision-making and analytics culture programs. Douglas Raitt

Douglas Raitt joined Lloyd’s Register in 2005 to strengthen their Fuel Oil Bunkering Advisory Services (FOBAS) after having managed marine fuel oil testing laboratories in Rodderdam and Singapore since 1996. Frans G van Andel

Frans van Andel is a pharmaco-economist and senior public health specialist with more than 30 years of experience in global pricing and reimbursement issues of medicines and medical devices. He holds degrees in health economics and law (Universities of Groningen and Utrecht, NL), public health (Harvard University, USA) and a PhD in pharmaceutical economics (Erasmus University, Rotterdam, NL).

Frans has held a number of senior roles in market access in the private and public sector. For many years he was Director of Global Market Access at Novartis AG in Switzerland. More recently, he worked for the World Health Organization Regional Office based in Denmark as a Regional Adviser Pharmaceuticals and Medical Technologies for the European region. He’s presently a Board Member of PPi HealthCare Ltd, a global market access company as well as Director of International Market Access at the Medicines Optimization Innovation Center (MOIC) in Belfast UK. The MOIC is a public sector institute, sponsored by the NHS aiming to develop methodologies for rational use of medicines and medical devices.

Frans has 40 years of experience in crude oil, heavy fuel oil and product quality as a senior R&D technologist. He spent the most part of his career at Shell working in a variety of roles, global locations and management positions, directly involved in all elements of the fuel oil supply chain, from manufacturing in the refinery to problem solving for individual bunker fuel customers.

As a senior research technologist, Frans and his team developed new methods for measuring fuel oil quality, such as the Automatic Stability Analyzer (ASTM D7060), the FIA combustion analyzer (IP541, in cooperation with Fueltech) and a filtration test rig. 

In his role as Fuel Oil Technology Manager Frans was responsible for a global team supporting Shell fuel oil operations worldwide; he played a significant role in setting up Shell’s Fuel Oil Quality Assurance System, supported refineries and terminals in blending operations and led numerous investigations in claims and incidents.

Most recently, as a Principal Scientist in the Emerging Technologies Group of Shell Global Solutions International, Frans was responsible for scouting and evaluating new developments in Heavy Oil technology in both Upstream (exploration and production) and downstream (transport, manufacturing and blending products) around the world. He held an instrumental role in preparing Shell sites for blending low sulphur fuels for shipping, e.g. for the Pernis refinery and the former Argos terminal (now Varo) in Rotterdam. This also included a study into unusual blending components. He and his team gave input to several editions of ISO 8217, notably on the CCAI parameter, on H2S limits in fuel oil, on flashpoint and on silicon and aluminum specifications.

Frans has given many fuel oil courses to both Shell and non-Shell customers in Europe, the Far East, North and South America, Asia Pacific as well as in Africa. Following his retirement from Shell, Frans joined Petrogenium as Principal Consultant for Residue Upgrading, Crude Oil and Product Quality as well as providing training through his private consultancy Black Oil Solutions, focused on fuel oil, crude oil and residue conversion. His recent fuel oil customers include ARQ, Bayern Oil, McKinsey, PTT, SGS, and Vitol.

Fatih Yüceyur

Fatih Yüceyurt has 19 years of experience managing the IT/OT and digital transformation across the power & energy value chain as well as asset-intensive and manufacturing industries. Dr. Giovanna Fenster

Dr. Giovanna Fenster has a PhD from the Victoria University, Wellington. This follows her attaining a BA, LLB degree from Wits and an LLM (cum laude) from RAU. She also has a second LLM in advanced contract law from Wits and an MA from the Victoria University, Wellington. She has completed the Association of Arbitrators’ specialisation in construction law and the Higher Diploma in Arbitration and was tutor for the Association’s well respected courses.

He was appointed Chief Executive of The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) in February 2009, after having been its Secretary-General for seven and a half years. Jens Hansen

Jens Peter Hansen has more than 20 years of R&D and Project Management
experience with technologies for reducing emissions – including SOx, NOx and
Particular Matter (soot).

Jens gained his subject matter expertise through several organisations including
Haldor Topsøe, FLSmidth & Co. A/S and most recently Alfa Laval. At Alfa Laval,
Jens initiated Alfa Laval’s first R&D activities with exhaust gas scrubbers involving
pilot scale tests in cooperation with MAN Diesel and which led to successful installation of world’s
largest scrubber systems onboard a ship (20 MW MAN engine) in 2010.

Jens started his professional career with making some of the first DeNOx catalysts for NOx removal at
Haldor Topsøe A/S while he was still studying chemistry at the Technical University of Denmark. After
finishing his master, he carried out a PhD thesis about sulphur emissions and how these could be
reduced by aid of both dry and wet absorption methods. In 2008, he joined Aalborg Industries A/S as
project manager to improve their Waste Heat Recovery systems installed on large container ships and
to investigate the possibilities for installing scrubbers’ onboard ships. It quickly became the scrubbers
which took up all the time as the first pilot tests were conducted already in the autumn of 2008 together
with MAN Energy Solutions at their test center in DK. As these tests went very successful, they were
followed in 2009 by a full-scale installation onboard DFDS Ro-Ro vessel Ficaria Seaways which became
the world’s largest and first hybrid scrubber system. in 2010 Alfa Laval acquired Aalborg Industries A/S
and Jens continued to work as R&D manager for their Exhaust Gas Cleaning activities.

In light of the IMO 2020 global sulphur cap decision, Jens founded ECA Engineering Aps (Denmark) in
2017 to help ship owners in navigating between all the different scrubber options and also to manage
complete scrubber projects involving manufactures, pipe suppliers, and yards. Jens rely on his huge
network of sub-suppliers, institutions, engine builders, marine engineers and yards as well as new
co-operations continuously are formed as the scrubber market rapidly expands. Major principles have
been Danish Ship Owners like Torm A/S and Ultra Ship A/S. Today he is one of few independent
experts in the world on Exhaust Gas Scrubbing technology for shipboard applications.

John Simpson

John is a Director of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration, a member of the Advisory Board to the National University of Singapore Centre for Maritime Law and a Committee Member of the Maritime Law Association of Singapore. As a recognised expert in charterparty law, John was appointed to the Singapore Maritime Foundation drafting committee for the Singapore Time Charter Form, which eventually evolved into the new NYPE 2015 charterparty form. James Booker is President Director of PT JBCS Indonesia, a consulting company which provides advisory services to clients in the energy, mining and construction sectors. He has 36 years experience in North America, South America and throughout Asia. Since establishing PT JBCS Indonesia in mid-2009, James has been retained as advisor to a number of clients developing captive or IPP power projects in Indonesia, ranging in size from 2 x 60 MW to 2 x 1,000 MW. He is now advising several clients engaged in major power development projects in the region.

Prior to forming his own consulting company, he was Senior Vice President with PT Paiton Energy, a developer of major IPP projects. During his time with PT Paiton Energy, James was a lead team member on the re-negotiation of the PPA for a 1,230MW coal-fired power project, and later headed their development team for a 815 MW expansion project for which he led the PPA negotiations with PLN, the state utility off-taker.

James is a Chartered Engineer, and has an MBA from NUS, an MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration from King’s College, London University, a postgraduate Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration,and an LLM in International Legal Practice from the College of Law of England and Wales.

Jeff Martin

Jeff Martin [Phd related to strategic management in container logistics and BSs (Hons) in Maritime Economics] is Visiting Professor of International Logistics at Chung Ang University (Seoul, South Korea) and Director of J and S Maritime. He has extensive experience over the past 30 years in international container transport having spent 5 years managing container shipments, 5 years designing shipping line software systems and ten years involved in the development of new container terminals. Since 2005 he has provided management and executive training to terminal operators, shipping lines, logistics service providers and technology companies in thecontainer sector. Jeff has acted as port expert to the International Labour Organization (ILO) providing expertise in port operations to the highly successful Portworker Development Programme (PDP) which provides training to operators in the container sector. Currently he is developing a series short online short courses covering operational and market aspects of the container sector. Jeff is a recognised expert in the development and implementation of computer systems and has providedbusiness expertise and consultancy services on a range of software projects to shipping lines and terminal operators. Leveraging this knowledge, he provides culture change training to support the adoption of innovation and automation by portworkers and frontline managers. During his career he has worked in over thirty countries and had the opportunity to live in North America, Eastern Europe and the Far East. He currently delivers training courses each year in Europe, Asia and North America.

Jeffrey Blum

Jeffrey Blum’s involvement in shipping and trading spans over 45 years. He is the fourth generation of a shipping family, has been an active member of the Baltic Exchange since 1976 and has worked with a Lloyd’s underwriter and as a shipbroker, ship owner and operator, gasoil futures broker, charterer and commodities trader in London and abroad.

He achieved Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers by examination in 1979 and since 1983 has served on the ICS International Controlling Council, the International Membership Committee and the UK & Ireland Zone Committee. He has served on the London & South East Branch Committee since 1983, including its Education Officer 2000 – 2015, Chairman 2005-2007 and Vice Chairman 2015-2017. Jeffrey has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators since 1997 (Associate since 1979), is an active Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) and has been an arbitrator (both sole and tribunal) since 1994 and an expert witness since 1983. He has been on the controlling council of the International Commodity and Shipping Arbitration Service (ICSAS) since its creation in 2005.

Since 1984 he has been lecturing on maritime commercial subjects and law at universities and colleges throughout the UK. Since 2002 he is the founder director and principal lecturer of METL (Maritime Education & Training Ltd), a college in central London which prepares examinees for the ICS worldwide exams in eight core subjects. Since 2007 he is a Visiting Professor at the UN IMO’s World Maritime University in Malmo and at the Shanghai Maritime University and is a frequent presenter at conferences and masterclass workshops worldwide. For many years he has contributed to trade magazines and books and is currently editing the 12th edition of a long-established textbook on Chartering. Jeffrey provides maritime and commodities commercial claims consultancy and training through Interlink International Trading (UK) Ltd which he founded in 1994. His clients include oil majors, commodity traders, shipowners, P&I Clubs, shipbrokers, law firms, banks, governments and international shipping organisations.

Jolanda ter Maten

Jolanda ter Maten has more than 25 years of experience in educating innovation and new technology to a broad audience. As a very early adapter she started her career implementing and teaching computer automation in the late 1980’s in Central America.

Back in the Netherlands Jolanda has worked for corporates and government,
advising on innovation, change management and technical and management development programs. Covering a broad field of ICT-, HR and management positions, she clearly understands the needs of professionals of different levels and fields of expertise.

Kirindeep Singh

Kirindeep Singh is a senior partner Dentons Rodyk & Davidson. His primary practice areas are construction and engineering, energy, arbitration and general civil and commercial litigation. In construction and engineering, Kirin has been involved in numerous disputes in adjudication, arbitration and litigation. He represents owners, developers, consultants, and contractors under standard form (SIA, PSSCOC, REDAS, SCAL, FIDIC Forms) and bespoke contracts.

Lars Jensen

Lars Jensen has 17 years of experience from inside the shipping industry. Law Peng Keat

Law Peng Keat, PPA is the founding Director of Asia Ports & Terminals Consultants Pte. Ltd. (AP&TC), which provides consultancy services for the port and liquid bulk terminal industries. Prior to establishing the consulting firm, he has had over 30 years of hands-on experience in the management of ports. He graduated with the Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree and obtained post-graduate qualifications in General Management and Marketing Management.

He received training in Port & Harbour Management from the Ministry of Transport, Japan. In addition, he is full Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Singapore Institute of Directors.

His entire career centred mainly on ports and terminals. In his early career, he worked for Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) for 16 years managing an offshore supply base and the industrial port, Jurong Port, which was then a gateway of the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA). Whilst serving at Jurong Port, he was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) by the then President of the Republic of Singapore, Mr. Wee Kim Wee.

Subsequently, he worked for 10 years at GATX Terminals Pte. Ltd., a joint venture between GATX Terminals Corporation (GTC), USA, PSA and JTC, as its Senior Vice President. Concurrently, he served as an alternate Director for 15 years representing JTC and then GTC. GATX Terminals Pte. Ltd. was then one of the largest petrochemical terminals in South East Asia with two joint venture terminals in Malaysia and China.

Prior to establishing AP&TC, he rejoined Jurong Port Pte. Ltd. as its Senior Consultant. In that role he was involved in managing the shift of Pasir Panjang Terminal’s conventional operations to Jurong Port, securing the Offshore Marine Centre O&M tender, logistics shipping contract for coal and biomass and the proposed development of a new liquid bulk terminal.

In addition to his consulting work, Peng Keat also serves as a guest lecturer appointed by the Nanyang Technological University, School of Maritime Studies, for the Maritime Port Leaders’ Programme hosted by the Maritime Port Authority, Singapore.

Malcolm Sullivan

Malcolm has had a career in the financial services industry and financial training for over 40 years.

Malcolm started his career with National Westminster Bank (now part of RBS) before moving to Mellon Bank NA, a major regional US bank (now part of Bank of New York Mellon). At Mellon Bank, Malcolm held several credit analysis and account management positions in London, focusing on large UK corporates and UK subsidiaries of US corporations. After 11 years at Mellon Bank, Malcolm joined Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS) in London.

Since 1992 Malcolm has been primarily focussed on training in the areas of Corporate Credit Analysis, Financial Restructuring, Project, Infrastructure and Structured Debt Finance, such as Real Estate Finance and Asset Securitisation. He has designed and delivered tailored and public courses in more than 60 countries. In these areas, he has worked with a wide range of corporate and investment banking firms; Development Finance Institutions; public sector organisations; Export Credit Agencies; and several major corporations. Dr Malcolm Ross

Dr Malcolm Ross, President, Generapharm. Dr. Ross has over 30 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, the last 20 being at corporate level. He qualified in the UK with a degree in Pharmacy and a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry. Martin Bellamy

Marin has over 30 years of engineering experience, with the last 20 working directly with solar PV. he specialises in product assessment, contract & project management and strategic business services for energy organisations as well as the international investment sector.

His technical experience includes the design and implementation of thousands of complex PV products and systems for urban areas, extreme environments and highly specialised applications, from explosion-proof systems for industry, commercial projects to domestic services and off-grid systems. He held various technical designer, project management and commercial strategist at Solapak (UK), Solarcentury and G24 Innovation. Martin set up Moyo Energy in 2008 to focus on developing world energy markets consultancy; and Solapak Systems in 2015 specialised in the design and supply of off-grid PV systems for industrial and commercial use.

Martin provides strategic business advice for investors, manufacturers and institutional stakeholders including energy assessment (from refugee settlements to commercial telecoms), PV market intelligence for financial investors; IPO and business development assistance and manufacturing expertise for systems suppliers. With Solapak Energy, he has won 2 UK Government Innovation Grants to lead multi-partner off-grid energy development projects.

An ethically motivated chartered engineer, physicist and scientist with a commitment to the promotion of renewable energy – particularly solar electric services in energy-poor regions, Martin has been supporting Mercy Corps and UNHCR in conducting field assessments and producing report on the economic justification for replacing diesel generators with off-grid solar in Humanitarian settings.

Michael Lee

Michael Lee (MBA) is an associate of FYT Consulting Pte Ltd. He’s an IT professional by training with more than 25 years of consulting & practical experience across many functions (sales, client management, business operations & customer service) throughout various roles (Vendor, Systems Integrator, Distributor and End-user) in both the public & private sector.

Prior to joining FYT Consulting, Michael has done consultancy and process re-engineering for several SMEs. He has also conducted numerous training sessions on Virtual Teaming for international banks and corporations, including Rolls Royce, IP Academy, Tripartite Alliance and many more. In addition, he has made many speaking engagements in Customer & Partner events, as well as in major international Sales Conferences.

Michael has managed the Asia Pacific Sales Operations for Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems. His main responsibility included the management of day-to-day operations within Asia Pacific. He was also running the China’s sales for almost a year. Prior to that, Michael led the Asia Pacific Sales Operations for Cisco System and the Business Operations for Customer Service in Asia Pacific & Japan in Cisco. In addition, he headed a global Metrics & Business Intelligence team comprising members from Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. Before joining Cisco, Michael worked for Peoplesoft, AT&T GIS, SAP and National Computer Systems (SCO).

Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Mathematics as well as an MBA from the National University of Singapore.

Peter Motteram

Peter Motteram is Director of P.A.S.M. Limited with offices in both London, UK and Boston, US. He has had 18 years advising companies on their clinical trials strategy, project management and CRO outsourcing. He has a wide range of experience with different types of clients operating in territories around the world, including India and Singapore.

He originally trained in biochemistry at the Universities of Birmingham and London, and after working in a London teaching hospital, he started his pharmaceutical work at Sterling Research Group as GCP Quality Assurance auditor.

He moved to Quintiles, first founding their Quality Assurance department and then leading and developing their Business Development group outside US. As General Manager of Clinical Trials Research, Peter had responsibility for offices in the non-Americas regions.

Prior to founding PASM, Peter was General Manager of ClinTrials Research for all non-Americas offices. ClinTrials Research was at that time the third largest global clinical trials CRO and was the first to do an IPO. A significant component of Peter’s work is in running training courses, both public and tailored to inhouse needs.

Neil Macnab

Neil has been involved with the Maritime and Shipping industry for over 34 years where his foundation was built with Shell from Cadetship to Master.

With 23 years at sea, he completed numerous STS transfers for Crude Oil on VLCCs in the Gulf of Mexico and he performed weekly STS operations from 30,000 tons Product Carriers to small coasters in the Gulf of Thailand.

He was deeply engaged on trade in the Far East, Australia and Japan when he became Master on LNG carriers.

More recently Neil has carried out training and attended a number of LNG STS operations for Ship Management Companies in South America.

Aside from Shell, he has also worked for 12 years in shore side roles for global maritime companies such as K Line Shipping UK Limited, MOL LNG Transport Europe Ltd and BG Global LNG Shipping, where he has held HSSE Manager and operations roles.

Neil also has experience in accident and incident investigation and expert witness roles in numerous cases while working for marine consultancies, including collisions, groundings, unsafe ports, cargo loss and damage claims.

He has been a Speaker in various industry seminars and conferences for the Oil, Gas and Off-shore Renewables industry as well as organising in-house conferences for Ship Managers.

Some of his roster of clients includes Maritime Port Authority of Singapore, British Wind Energy Association (UK), MOL Commercial (London), CNOOC, PSA Marine Pte Ltd, Pavilion Gas, V-Ships Greece. BP Shipping (Singapore), Marshall Islands Flag Administration, Conrad LNG and the USCG.

Peter Wittner

Peter Wittner, B.Sc., is an independent consultant specialising in the commercial aspects of generics with nearly 40 years’ pharmaceutical experience. The major part of this has been spent in the generic industry. He was Managing Director for the UK subsidiary of the Indian generic leader Ranbaxy, having joined them to set up the business before returning to consultancy work.

Before that, Peter had headed the European Sales & Marketing department of the UK generics companies Evans Medical and H.N. Norton, which later became part of IVAX and then Teva.

In the field of generics, Interpharm works with new market entrants on developing commercial strategies, compiling competitor intelligence, assisting in business development and gaining EU-GMP approval for companies outside the EU that are trying to enter the market. Peter has also assisted in generic product in- and out-licensing negotiations both in the EU and US markets. Recently, he has become increasingly involved in the field of biosimilars.

On the other side of the equation, Interpharm has also worked with originator companies that are looking at ways of defending their major brands from generic incursion or are themselves considering entry in to the field of generics.

Peter is a regular speaker at generic and biosimilars conferences, and runs workshops on generic and Biosimilars topics for various organisations as well as conducting training seminars. He has written a number of reports on generics industry topics and a series of reports for Decision Resources and other publishers. Originally based in north London, Peter has now relocated to Israel.

Capt. Robert Gordon

Capt. Robert Gordon, LLB, LLM, Master Mariner & Solicitor (England & Wales) Managing Director, SeaProf Executive Education Former MD and Chairman, SEAsia P&I Services

Capt. Gordon spent 20 years at sea as a deck officer, shipmaster and pilot before coming ashore to study maritime law at the University of Southampton. He then qualified as a Solicitor and practiced as a partner with admiralty law firm, Thomas Cooper in London. Capt. Gordon founded SEAsia P&I Services, which specialises in marine casualty investigation and P&I correspondent defence work. SEAsia then expanded rapidly by creating a unique franchised network of 20 P&I correspondent offices throughout Asia. The network continues to operate successfully, providing high profile P&I claims investigation and resolution as well as loss prevention services to both International Group P&I Clubs and the fixed premium P&I insurance market.

Capt. Gordon has a special interest in sharing knowledge with the next generation of maritime industry professionals. He has been engaged for many years as an Adjunct Lecturer and Professor by the BI Norwegian School of Business in providing lecture modules on marine insurance, ship management and maritime law for NTU’s highly regarded MSc in Shipping programme.

Capt. Gordon, as MD of SeaProf Executive Education, also collaborates with BI and the Hamburg Business School (HSBA) in the production and presentation of maritime executive education short courses in Singapore and the Asian region.

Rodeina Challand

Rodeina Challand has over 30 years of experience in healthcare, cancer research and the pharmaceutical and CRO industries. She’s held a wide range of roles, including developing and implementing clinical development strategies for biosimilars and complex generics.

Rodeina is experienced in all aspects of biosimilar development, from study design to regulatory considerations (including EMA, FDA, MENA, GCC, Australia, Singapore, India, Japan, South Korea). In the last few years, she has conducted several meetings with regulatory agencies across regions in order to better understand their expectations when licensing biosimilars, support them in implementing clinical trial regulations and educate potential investigators.

For over 10 years, she has worked on over 15 biosimilar molecules across a range of products and indications, including ESAs, filgrastims, heparins, insulins, LMWH, growth hormones, monoclonal antibodies, and more recently, biosimilar orphan drugs. DI Dr. Salma Michor

Salma Michor is founder and CEO of Michor Consulting and Trade Services GmbH, serving such clients as Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Pfizer and Shire. Previously, Michor worked for Chiesi-Torrex, Wyeth Whitehall Export Croma Pharma GmbH.

Prior to this she was the Director of Global Supporting Operations– Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals (Ophthalmology & Orthopedics). At Croma Pharma GmbH, she was incharge of technical and human resource leadership and supervision of four departments including Regulatory Affairs and compliance department, Medical and Vigilance department, Change Control and life cycle management department and Packaging and pharmaceutical editing department. Dr. Stavros Tsolakis

Dr. Stavros Tsolakis is a Visiting Professor at the Singapore Management University and also the Vice President of a Greek drybulk carrier DST Shipping Group, the largest shipping and logistics group in Northern Greece. He is also the Director of the Group’s Newbuilding Programme. Since 2000, he has been lecturing in various universities and companies around the world including the Rotterdam School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Athens University of Economics and Business, University of Nantes, National University of Singapore, Neptune Orient Line, American President Lines, and the Panama Canal Authority.

Dr. Tsolakis is regularly invited as a speaker in big shipping events and quoted in articles and interviews in shipping and business/economics newspapers and magazines. He lectures and provides trainings on Ship Finance, Econometric Modelling and Forecasting of the Shipping Markets, Financial Risk Management in Shipping, Portfolio Investment and Management, Futures and Options, Real Options Theory, Financial Management, Shipping Investment and Finance, Investment and Finance Analysis, and Maritime Economics. He earned his BSc Shipping Economics in Southampton England, Masters in both International Business Economics and Financial Economics in Rotterdam School of Economics and School of Management respectively, and finally his PhD in Economics (Applied Econometrics) at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He has also studied under some of the world’s most prominent econometricians (P.H.B.F Franses, R. Mariano and R. Engle).

He is Member elect of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Committee of China Classification Society, the Union of Shipowners of Northern Greece and the Federation of Industrialists of Northern Greece.

Dr. Tsolakis is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea in Northern Greece.
