Sludge in marine fuels is nothing new. Ever since the first residue thermal crackers came online at the beginning of the twentieth century sludge in residual fuels has been an issue. From 1973 onwards sludge in marine fuels became an increasing issue, peaking in the mid 1980’s. Ships engines were immobilised for periods of time at sea with a significant number having to be towed to a safe port.
This free live webinar focuses on the issue of sludge and sediments in fuels supplied to ships in compliance with the maximum 0.5%m Sulphur content mandated in MARPOL Annex VI.
Join industry expert, Keith Forget, for a focused assessment of the root causes of sludge and sediments being generated in fuels supplied to ships, along with ISO 8217.
