About The Course
The emergence of Covid-19 has deepened impacts on port capacity & overall marine logistics, prompting operators to place heightened emphasis in responding to port congestion, cargo imbalance and biosecurity measures.
Throughout this seminar, attendees will revise the current state of global supply chain as well as the disruption on port operators & shipping around the world. Independent Consultant – Port Operations, Riacom Ltd
Iain has over 30 years’ experience in logistics management, mostly within port operations. He has led various terminals’ operations & cargo supply chain, and delivered multimillion projects for large operators. His experiences include:
- Terminal Manager (Abu Dhabi ports) – Responsible for overall operations & profitability of the largest General Cargo port in Abu Dhabi. Handled Dry bulk, liquid bulks, steel, project cargoes & ro-ro. Also involved with Cruise operations and 7 satellite ports. Doubled turnover over 24-month period.
- Head of Operations Development (Peel Ports Group): Led a major project to develop an operational model for new container terminal at Liverpool (Liverpool 2).
- Head of Cargo Operations (Peel Ports Group): Responsible for operational control, cost management, P&L, business development, HSE management and project control of all areas within main cargo operations.
- Container Terminal Manager (Thamesport and Liverpool) Managed container operations at Liverpool container terminal and Thamesport – the world’s first semi-automated container terminal.
- Divisional Operations Manager (Hutchison Port Holdings): Responsible for all logistics & warehousing activities at UK’s largest container port & over 30 warehouse facilities.
